old bras, need a new purse? the bra-purse

Just a few months ago my friends and I had yet another garage sale. Among the items for sale was a large box filled with expensive bras that no longer fit me. It was a shame to sell each one for a meager dollar, but I hope a happy toothless lady roams the world wearing a 34 D Chantelle Bra with a big smile on her face!

If you aren't able to stomach the thought of getting rid of old bras, try making your bra into a purse! I know it sounds pretty crazy but there are some cute ones out there, and you can even honor Breast Cancer by putting the pink ribbon pins all over. Maybe it makes for a cute wall decoration or a great change purse for a night on the town with the girls.
About.com DIY fashion page gives you all the tools - all you need are scissors, a sewing kit, a glue gun (If your bra has an under wire) and an old bra of any size

The Web site gives you the simple step-by-step process so even your 10 year-old sister can make one out of her training bra.

I would love to post pictures, so if anyone has already done this, or is planning on creating a bra-purse, please send me pics @ allisonm.robins@gmail.com and I will post them!

How to not bust out of a button down

Just like me, many of you BBGs out there may have a bone to pick with the button down blouse, a classic article of clothing found in stores like The Gap or The Limited. But to our chagrin, button downs are essential for interviews and at the workplace and have become an important part of the wardrobe. They are classic, versatile and form-fitting. However, unless you are flat chested or rounding the corner of a small B, button downs tend to pull at the cleavage and we find ourselves adding a safety pin into the mix. I saw someone at work doing it the other day and I have even done it myself. Many of my shirts have permanent tiny holes where the safety pins have made a comfortable home over the years.

Well, here's a new tip - try using Hollywood Fashion Tape instead of safety pins. It won't tear a hole or ruin your shirt and no one will be able to tell that you are sealing the girls in with some tape.

If you got to hollywoodfashiontape.com, you can purchase 36 double-sided stick tapes for $8.99. You will have plenty left over for use in other situations, like taping a top or dress to your skin so your boobies don't fall out. It's good stuff!

Support Your Favorite Boob

I just found this and thought it was funny, touching and real.

Quilting of South Carolina displays 50 hand-quilted, funny and inspirational bras – proceeds donated to the Best Chance Network. The bras were made to honor Breast Cancer Awareness, to memorialize those lost to the disease, and to honor survivors.

All quilters used a size 36C – just my luck!

Tell me your favorites!
Mine are Stop Puppy Mills (of course), A New Life (uplifting) and Monkey Business (because I find humor in Chewbacca). The Bra from hell kind of freaked me out. Tell BB what you think?
